Dr. Zheng's lab has developed a series of opto-thermo-fluidic tools to assemble colloidal nanoparticles into superstructures and to pattern two-dimensional atomic-thin layers via computer programming. With their enhanced throughput and automation, in combination with low-power optics and simple setup, these digital manufacturing tools will further applications of designer nanomaterials with complex architectures and novel functionalities in photonics, electronics and medicine.
